The North York Moors Trust is proud to present the inaugural Compose, Create, Connect photography workshop fundraiser with renowned photographer, Joe Cornish.

Compose, Create, Connect workshops strive to strengthen your photography skills and deepen your connection with the natural environment.

The stunning autumnal scenery of the North York Moors National Park will play host to our workshop. Often the foliage and lighting at the height of autumn make for an atmospheric subject matter.

With years of experience, Joe Cornish will share technical tips to hone your craft and inform the development of your own approach to lighting and composition. Joe will give a classroom-based presentation before leading the group through woodland on the southern edge of the stunning North York Moors National Park.

We will also be joined by Sam Newton who will share his insight into the working of the woodland to help us better understand and observe the structures and functions of our natural surroundings and the impact nature plays on our senses and wellbeing.

This workshop is a fundraiser, with funds raised from ticket sales going directly toward supporting the work of the North York Moors Trust.

Joe Cornish is a revered working photographer, devoting the last four decades to photographing wild landscapes both here at home in the UK and overseas. Joe is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society.

Sam Newton is Woodland Creation Officer at the North York Moors National Park. Having gained a BSc Hons. in Biology and Ecology and an MSc Dist. in Biological Recording, he is a dedicated local naturalist, ecologist, and biological recorder, with links to local naturalist groups and charities including Butterfly Conservation. He is devoted to making a difference to the habitats and wildlife of the North York Moors National Park.

The North York Moors Trust is a small independent charity providing people and communities within the National Park and surrounding areas, equal opportunity to access and enjoy nature and benefit to health and wellbeing. Through those connections the Trust promotes the importance of conserving the natural environment and resilience building by empowering people to participate in projects that protect, restore, and enhance the North York Moors and the wildlife it supports.
